DAY THIRTY SEVEN

Here is Ameraucana just barely big enough to peek out of the pen. She is adorable and hubby calls her Coo-tip because her coat is as soft as cotton and he said she feels like a Q-tip. She is very gentle and sweet and has been from the beginning. Below is Maran and Dominique. Maran is the smartest and most inquisitive. Dominique is a watcher more than a doer.
Below is Minorca trying to figure out how to open this door. She is not as busy as Maran but more active than the other two girls.
With this face Dominique will be able to get away with a lot of mischief.

DAY THIRTY SIX

Not much to say about today other than thank goodness for drugs! I can't tell if I am getting better or the pills just make me feel that way but I suppose I will go to work tomorrow. This is Welsummer looking very grown up. He must have given me 1000 kisses today. I think he was trying to make me feel better. Puppy kisses do help.
Here is Sebright.
I always get a chuckle out of looking in on them when they are sleeping.
Below is Sebright shaking the devil out of his toy. It is hilarious to watch because he shakes his head back and forth so hard he falls over.

WEEK FIVE

Today the babies are 5 weeks old already. That went very fast and soon we will have an empty nest. All of you who are getting one of these sweet little babies are probably wondering which one you will be getting. Those of you who are hoping someone changes their mind and you will have an opportunity to get one of the puppies, I hope to have enough info to make the right decisions on who goes where very soon.

Today was nail clipping and weighing day again. My goodness did they grow this week. The smallest one is 5 1/4 pounds and the biggest one is 6 1/2 pounds. They all behaved very nicely for the nail clipping.

I am sorry that there is only 2 pictures today. I have managed to pick up a head cold and I am feeling miserable so for those of you who sent me an email, I am very sorry that I didn't get to answer you. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel better if not I can call in sick and watch the puppies play all day! Now that sounds like a plan!

DAY THIRTY FOUR

I think Garrett is whispering something sweet in Gambit's ear but I'll bet she doesn't fall for it any time soon. Maran is the first to get into everything. Here she is having a drink from the big dog bowl.
Welsummer is trying to decide if this bumpy thing feels good or not on his toes.
Minorca ran across it so fast she never even felt it.
Here is Maran exploring the toy box while my favorite little boy Welsummer looks on. OOPS..... did I say I had a favorite...don't tell anyone!
Two lovely ladies looking for trouble.

DAY THIRTY THREE

Today the puppies had more visitors. Susan and friend (senior moment name eludes me) came to see the puppies. Because I seldom have people at my home that the dogs don't know this has been a trying time for the three adults. I won't let them out of their crates to greet anyone until they settle. Having strangers come to visit the puppies has been a wonderful socialization for Bizzi as well as the puppies. Sebright, Minorca and Wyandotte
I really love Welsummer's face!
Maran with a treasure
What me chew a rug....OOPS I'm busted!
Ameraucana managed to steal Maran's treasure and she is very happy with herself.
Night Night!

DAY THIRTY TWO

WEBSTER EARNS HIS CDX TITLE!
Today the puppies big brother Webster earned his Companion Dog Excellent title. Earning this title takes a lot of training, dedication, trust and love between a human and a dog. I couldn't be happier or prouder of this team! Congratulations Judy and thanks for loving Garrett's son.
Today Chris came to see the puppies and decided that she wanted them all! They all played with her, untied her shoes and then climbed in her lap and went to sleep. Chris being the caring, generous person she is came bearing gifts for Gambit, Garrett, Bizzi and me too! As I emptied all the toys and treats in the bag I came across a beautiful Vera Bradley bag with a gorgeous chicken and egg design!!!!! How me! Chris told me to use it to carry anything I wanted but I don't think she had this in mind.

DAY THIRTY

T.G.I.F........Even though I only worked 4 days this week it seemed like forever. I still can't understand why my employer wouldn't give me a maternity leave so I could stay home with these babies. Heartless I suppose..... The puppies are doing a very good job of leaving the nest to potty now. None of them have pooped in the bed but occasionally they don't make it all the out to pee.
This is a picture of the 2 patched girls Maran and Minorca cleaning supper off of each other's faces.
Meanwhile...Dino serves as a pillow for Ameraucana.
Welsummer on the prowl.

Sebright with a treasure running away from the gang!

DAY TWENTY NINE

For the first time I had all the puppies out of the 4x8 pen they call home. I have taken them out one at a time for various reasons but this was the first time I had them loose in the house. The had a grand time exploring and I put some fun things for them to walk through.
I am sorry that most of them have outgrown their collars. I will try to put new collars on them tonight so you can tell who is who. I know them all apart but I am sure it is confusing from the pictures. SorryBizzi thought it was very cool to have them all out to play with and Gambit liked the idea of someone else entertaining them. Garrett on the other hand couldn't get away from them fast enough.

WEEK FOUR

Today was very busy and I played hooky from work which was fun. I have lots of vacation time to use so I thought today would be a good day to stay home with the puppies. I thought I could play catch up on some work but I spent most of the day playing with the pups. We had to grind chicken again for dog food but didn't have to do veggies so it didn't take long. I went to the store to buy new doggie toys so everyone is happy tonight and all played out. Since they are four weeks old today it was time to clip nails and weigh them again. They were very good getting their nails clipped and all weight around 4 pounds now. There is sill 2 ounces between the smallest and the largest just like at birth. I am amazed at how uniform the litter is.

I received some bad news regarding get the litter BAER hearing tested. I can't get them done at Cornell because Dr. Loew will be out of the Country. There are other options but no good ones. I can go to Dr Haas in Michigan but that is a very long drive. There is a place in the central part of PA. and also a place in Cleveland, Ohio I can go to. I opted for Cleveland and have an appointment for November 11. It will cost me over twice as much as it would at Cornell. SHEESH! Now that I am sure they all can hear in at least one ear I have found something new to worry about. TESTICLES.....I can only find one...where oh where are the other five? I am hoping it is too early to find them because they are about the size of a large tomato seed.

Gambit is ready to be over this now. She doesn't spend very much time nursing them and today she fed them standing up. I am sure she will be happy when they are weaned.
